Palazzo Maffei – A Museum for Children and Families

Palazzo Maffei is a museum designed for children and for all new generations!
Discover our activities dedicated to young visitors and families.

CHILDREN AT THE MUSEUM

Every child visiting the museum will receive a special kit created by our team to draw and express their creativity, inspired by the artworks in the collection.
Ask for your drawing kit at the ticket office — don’t miss the chance to explore Palazzo Maffei together with your little ones!

KIDS ART CONTEST

The museum turns into a space of creativity and imagination!
The Kids Art Contest returns to Palazzo Maffei — a free art competition open to all children visiting the museum.

Every young participant receives a free drawing kit to express their imagination inspired by the collection’s 700 masterpieces, from ancient to contemporary art.

The third edition of the creative contest is officially open: Point of View.
This year’s challenge invites children to start from a single sign and let their imagination run free — what’s your point of view? Tell your story through a unique drawing!

The contest is free and open to all young visitors until April 30, 2026.

ART LAB / BEAUTY IS A READY-MADE
What is a ready-made? How can an everyday object become a work of art?
Inspired by Beauty is a Ready-Made, a site-specific installation by Claire Fontaine in dialogue with The Bather by Alessandro Puttinati, this multidisciplinary workshop introduces children to this revolutionary artistic practice.

ART LAB / ARTIST CREATIONS

This lab explores movement through unexpected materials, even the lightness of paper!

ART LAB / MUSEUM IN BLOOM

Children discover artworks inspired by flowers and create their own colorful compositions celebrating nature’s diversity.
