ART LAB / BEAUTY IS A READY-MADE
What is a ready-made? How can an everyday object become a work of art? Inspired by the new site-specific installation by Claire Fontaine in dialogue with La Bagnante by Alessandro Puttinati, this multidisciplinary workshop introduces children to this revolutionary artistic practice.
ART LAB / ARTIST CREATIONS
A mixed-media art workshop: by combining different materials and using collage techniques, children express their creativity inspired by the great artists featured in the Museum.
ART LAB / CLOUD
A world among the clouds: who hasn’t ever played with clouds in the sky? And a cloud inside a museum display case? That’s something new! A cloud has stopped here at Palazzo Maffei: Cloud by artist Leandro Erlich inspires a light, floating visit and a workshop to create a pop-up cloud artwork.
ART LAB / MAGICAL BESTIARY
A workshop exploring real and imaginary animals found in the Palazzo Maffei art collection. Together, participants will build a diorama where paper and cardboard animals come to life in a new imaginary setting.
ART LAB / TRACES OF LIGHT
Luminous effects and light games emerging from darkness: inspired by Giacomo Balla’s Iridescent Interpenetrations in the Palazzo Maffei collection, children create bright and colorful artworks celebrating light.
ART LAB / SCULPTURES IN THE WIND
When we think of sculpture, we often imagine something static and immobile—but is that always true? Together with young artists, Palazzo Maffei explores how sculpture can move through unusual forms, even using the lightness of paper.
ART LAB / MUSEUM IN BLOOM
Nature offers a great variety of flowers with different shapes, colors, and languages. Did you know there are floating flowers, nocturnal flowers, and flowers with something to say? Art and Nature meet in the new spring art lab Museum in Bloom, exploring the museum’s collection through a highly creative activity for children.
ART LAB / IGNITING FUTURISM
A creative workshop inspired by the energy and innovation of Futurism! Young participants discover the bold ideas and colors of this artistic movement and create their own luminous Futurist-inspired artwork, drawing inspiration from Giacomo Balla.
ART LAB / THE GREAT WAVE BY HOKUSAI
The Great Wave by Hokusai is a playful, hands-on activity designed to combine fun with the discovery of art history. Through the fascination of The Great Wave (1831), participants of all ages experience traditional printmaking techniques firsthand.
ART LAB / PAPER FANTASIES
